Misitu Conservation was born when our founding team were looking for ways to develop carbon offsets at scale to offset their company's emissions while also ensuring that host communities accrued permanent, economically viable benefits from the proceeds of carbon offset sales. 

 

The result was Misitu Africa, a developer of large-scale, high-integrity, technology-enabled carbon offset projects.

We conserve, regrow and restore forests, using a combination of satellite imagery and local communities to monitor the forests in real-time. We issue carbon-credits that are sold to corporatations. We use the proceeds to invest in local ventures that employ locals, generate dividends for us and community trusts.
